Job Title: Sanitation Worker (Seasonal - Starting in April 2026)
Reports to: Sanitation Leadership
The 2026 Production Season began in early April of 2026 and will likely run up to Thursday 11/26/2026 (Thanksgiving). We are actively seeking individuals who will be able to work the entire duration of the production season. Must be able to provide United States Work Authorization upon hire.
Job Summary:
The Sanitation Worker is responsible for handling scrubbing, cleaning, and Sanitation duties. This role is essential for maintaining hygiene in our turkey processing plant which ensures the safety of final turkey products. The Sanitation Worker is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing equipment, work areas, and the overall plant environment. This involves tasks like disassembling and cleaning equipment, removing debris, and applying cleaning agents and sanitizers. Looking for individuals who have flexibility to work various hours Monday through Friday. Some weekend flexibility is also necessary.
Schedule Details:
Shifts will typically start at either 3 pm, 5 pm, or 6 pm. Shifts are typically 8 to 10 hours in length. Positions are full-time hours (40/week) during the season. Weekend work may be required at times, especially during the months of October and November.
Essential Functions:
- Cleans and sanitizes equipment, work areas, and the entire processing plant in a manner which complies with company and USDA standards.
- Properly handles chemicals and other cleaning agents, often with the use of high-pressure hoses (some of which are hot steam type).
- Utilizes various shovels, pitch forks, or other small hand tools to remove turkey processing debris and other waste materials.
- Disassembles, then reassembles equipment as part of the cleaning and sanitation process.
- Adheres to strict safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment.
- Brings forth any mechanical problems or sanitation issues to either lead or supervisory staff.
Job Qualifications:
- Previous sanitation or cleaning experience is preferred.
- English and/or Spanish Language proficiency is strongly preferred.
- Ability to work in a team and follow instructions from supervisors, or lead workers.
- Good hygiene practices and adherence to food safety regulations.
- Ability to work 40+ hours per week; Ability to maintain good attendance for scheduled work hours.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Physical Demands / Work Requirements:
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to work in a daily environment with exposure to chemicals and sanitizers.
- Ability to work in an environment where biological hazards will be present from live birds or debris from turkeys will be present in the work area.
- Ability to keep up with a vigorous speed.
- Ability to work in a standing position for periods of 3-4 hours per session.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds.
- Must be able to handle repetitive motions, such as the need to grip, grasp, and twist using hands and wrists, sometimes with force, in a repetitive manner.
- Ability to work in an environment in which you will have close proximity to others; have exposure to noise, plus there will be some mild nuisance smells and odors.
- Comfortable working in wet/damp and environments with some temperature fluctuations.
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) for periods of 3-4 hours per session.
Pay:
- Hourly pay of $18.50/hour, plus overtime pay rate for worked hours in excess of 40 per week.
