Campfire SEO Specialist

Campfire is a next-gen core accounting platform built for modern mid-market finance teams. We're building the future of ERP by replacing outdated systems and manual accounting processes with an AI-native platform that helps finance teams move faster and operate more efficiently.

Search has split into two surfaces: classic results and AI-generated answers. You'll own both for Campfire, growing qualified organic traffic and pipeline while making Campfire the source that answer engines cite when buyers ask questions in our category. You'll set the strategy, run the technical and content programs that deliver it, and build the measurement that proves it works.

What you'll do

• Own the organic strategy and roadmap: keyword and topic research, site architecture, technical SEO, on-page and internal linking, and a content program tied to pipeline.
• Build the answer-engine optimization program: identify the questions buyers ask LLMs and AI search surfaces, create and structure content those systems retrieve and cite (schema, entity clarity, source-worthy pages), and track share of citation over time.
• Co-plan with the Content / Storytelling team: you own search-intent and answer-intent content, they own narrative and video, and you agree a shared voice and calendar so nothing is duplicated.
• Work with the Social Media Manager on Reddit and community presence that strengthens AEO visibility without gaming it.
• Own technical SEO health with the web owner or agency: crawlability, Core Web Vitals, structured data, migrations and site performance.
• Build measurement for both surfaces: rankings, organic pipeline, AI-visibility tracking, and reporting on what drives qualified demand.
• Run digital PR and link-earning programs built on original data, tools and research.

What you'll bring

• 7+ years in B2B SEO with demonstrated pipeline impact, including at least one program you built from scratch or turned around.
• Hands-on with the standard toolkit (Google Search Console, GA4, Ahrefs or Semrush, Screaming Frog or similar) and comfortable in a CMS.
• A working understanding of how LLM-based search and answer engines retrieve, rank and cite sources, and a clear point of view on what's real versus hype in AEO.
• Strong technical SEO fundamentals; you write specs engineers can act on.
• Content strategy skill: you brief writers, edit for clarity and know what a source-worthy page looks like.
• Analytical and structured; you build measurement before you scale.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI-visibility tracking tools (Profound, Peec, or a hand-rolled tracker).
• Basic Python or SQL for analysis at scale.
• Multi-region or international SEO experience, since the EMEA build-out is underway.

What success looks like in 60 days

• Technical and content audit complete; SEO/AEO roadmap published with quarterly targets.
• Baseline measurement live for organic pipeline and AI-answer visibility.
• First AEO-optimized content cluster shipped and content boundaries agreed with Brand.
